If you only hear this noise inside your car while driving, there is most likely an issue with your vehicle's weather-stripping. I cannot replicate the knocking sound by pushing it (tried all 4 corners). Re: Brake clunk under slow stop situations - update I just leased a new m roadster on 11-20-06, immediately heard the clunking noise upon slow speed braking, also can feel it through the pedal. I have an old 2005 Mk2 Focus. -The noise is RPM dependent; as in the noise is consistent with knocking/clacking faster or slower depending upon how fast the engine is revving-The noise occurs on light to moderate load on the engine. Changing down is rarely required. mine would knock at random times, but it was often enough that i was able to sit there and wait for it to track it down. Pattern This is how you know if you have the gears set up correctly. It’s definitely only happening intermittently when it’s idling, at a low speed in a low gear (i. Knocking sound 4 Answers. Hello and welcome to this evening's live blog. No sound when decelerating or stopping. there is no wobble and she cant feel the knock in teh steerinr. Most consider this normal and not harmful as long as the noise subsided after a short amount of time. It should also either be more evident when the brake is applied or may become less evident. The noise is definately coming from front drivers suspension - when I drive down my tenfoot (full of potholes) slowly I can clearly hear what almost sounds like a rattle when hitting a pothole. When ever I am Turing right and going over 20kph or 30kph there will be this loud sequenced knocking noise and vibration coming from what I think is the shaft or inner cv joint area, but after checking the underside of the car, I cannot see what could possible be causing this issue. oneHOWTO explains the possible reasons why your clutch is making noise to diagnose. Slowing down, it does it. It appears to make one noise per wheel rotation, so it gets faster with higher speeds, and slows down at slower speeds. If its a tire, the sound won't be affected by application of the brakes (except for the noise obviously slowing down). Thump/Clunk noise right before complete stop was created by pugtor Ok, so as the title says, I have this thump/clunk sound (and I haven't met a mechanic yet who apparently knows what I mean when I say this) right before the car comes to that complete "stop". Rattling noise from the engine only under load/acceleration It is still constant not speeding up when the engine revvs up nor slowing down when the RPMs lower.
